Responsibilities:

  • Lead Complex Initiatives: Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments, ensuring successful execution of key projects.

  • Design and Develop: Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects, including upgrades and deployments, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions.

  • Technical Challenge Resolution: Review and resolve moderately complex technical challenges, applying in-depth knowledge of technologies and procedures.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to address technical challenges and achieve goals.

  • Team Leadership: Lead projects, act as an escalation point, and provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff.

  • Hands-On Development: Participate in hands-on design/development, unit testing, and building scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions (APIs - REST/SOAP with XML, JSON).

  • SDLC Participation: Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including documentation, code reviews, research, and production issue resolution.

  • Application Resiliency: Ensure application resiliency and stability, addressing operational issues via standard processes.

  • Security and Risk Management: Ensure security, availability, resilience, and scalability of developed solutions, and meet compliance and risk management requirements.

  • Third-Party Interaction: Interface with third-party vendors and technology service providers as needed.

  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Ensure effective monitoring, alarming, and notification response/maintenance for production systems.

  • Scrum Team Collaboration: Work closely with the scrum team to ensure that SDLC (including secure SDLC) release activities are completed on time.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

  • 4+ years of experience with the design and delivery of microservices/web services (API) applications.

  • 4+ years of experience with Java/Spring.

  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle.

  • 4+ years of experience with LINUX/UNIX.

  • 4+ years of Agile experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of software design and development experience in leading or managing web services/API applications in a high-volume production environment.

  • Web Services/Microservices delivery experience on internal or external cloud platforms.

  • Experience supporting and working with offshore teams.

  • Experience with Agile tools such as Confluence or Jira for tracking user stories or backlogs.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.

  • Experience with Kafka and PubSub patterns, including event-driven architecture.

  • Familiarity with cloud readiness/cloud design principles for Java/Spring applications.

  • Observability/Monitoring tools experience (Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk, Dynatrace).

  • Experience with Apigee or API Management tools is a plus.
